Well, since its Groundhog Day, I thought I would write a short post about it just for fun. Officially, Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow today, so sorry folks, but there’s 6 more weeks of winter! We’ve already had one blizzard in December and 3 other snows with 2 more coming this week. (what global warming?) I’m definitely looking forward to Spring time!
Groundhog Day is a holiday celebrated on February 2. It is held in the United States and Canada. According to folklore, if a groundhog emerging from its burrow on this day fails to see its shadow, it will leave the burrow, signifying that winter will soon end. If on the other hand, the groundhog sees its shadow, the groundhog will supposedly retreat into its burrow, and winter will continue for six more weeks. From Wikipedia. Read more…
Oh, by the way, if you haven’t seen the movie titled, Groundhog Day starring Bill Murray, (he repeats the same day over and over until he begins to reexamine his life and priorities). You should definitely check out this funny movie.
